Oxford School of Dance presents Raise the Barre Sunday, May 26, 2019 - Year End Performance Join Oxford School of Dance for an inspiring evening of great dancing! This year end performance features all of our 2018-2019 students from ages 3-adult. We are renting out the beautiful theatre at Forest City Community Church for two amazing performances. Tickets are available for purchase in advance or at the door! Performance #1 will take place at 4:00pm and Performance #2 at 6:00pm.

The Music Spot aims to provide performing opportunities for our students. We facilitate 2 coffee houses per year as well as a Christmas and Spring Recital. Coffee House happened at Rusty Wrench Brewing Co. where 13 students performed. Tickets were sold for a mash potato bar, and proceeds all went to the students performing. The Dance Theatre will be presenting a series of workshop classes on Monday April 29, to celebrate international Dance Day. You are invited to drop in and take a free class in Hip Hop, Jazz and or Pre-school dance. Classes will run for one hour between 4:30 - and 7:00 pm

The last Saturday of the year (December 28, 2019) we have a Kids' Fest. The admission is by donation and the hours are 11:00 to 3:00. We have lots of fun games and activities for children to take part. Parents can help too. There are cookies to decorate, crafts (aviation related) to make and lots of fun stuff. Group Art Shows: At the end of each term ArtVenture hosts a Group Art Show, whereby all artwork completed by students (ranging in age from Senior Kindergarten through to Adults) is exhibited in a gallery fashion. Event is well attended by community members, and occurs in December, March, and June of every year.

The Recreational stream is offered to those who want to experience the FUN of rhythmic gymnastics. All classes incorporate a small introduction to ballet, warm-up, stretching and light acrobatics. Each week we focus on a different apparatus (ball, hoop, rope, ribbon, and scarves) and teach the gymnasts the basic foundations of manipulation (throwing, rolling, and skipping) as well as gymnastics-specific skills and tricks.
